OUR STORY

Dating back to the 1850s, Chestnut Hill has a rich history. The farm was formerly a dairy farm that was rumored to be left to a vagabond traveler who exchanged work for a place to stay. Today, we're proud to offer travelers a tranquil space to rest, relax and form new memories in the beautiful Boston Hills of Western New York.

The farm is a mix of 95-acres of woods, fields, barns and two guest houses, the main Farm House and The Cottage. The farm house contains remnants of the original house, with additions and remodeling throughout to give the house a unique mix of modern and traditional design elements. The farm house is perched atop a hill, lending itself to a breathtaking view of Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

The Cottage was once the caretaker's house from when the barns were used for horse stables. After a complete renovation with wooden detail, the cottage is the perfect place to chill in the summertime and snuggle up when the snow starts falling.

Throughout the years, the farm has been a host to creativity, food and people!  Paintings from the artist, Sarah Myers (Catherine's daughter) can be found hung throughout the house and one of the barns was once a ceramic studio, as you may guess from the many clay 'artifacts' scattered throughout the house. In the summer, veggie gardens can usually be found around the farm.  Agriculture, the Arts, and Hospitality are merged together to create a sanctuary for the spirit, soul and body.

Hospitality - We are conveniently located minutes from the Hamburg Fair Grounds and Casino, New Era Field, ski resorts, and a mere 25 minutes from downtown Buffalo. This is the perfect setting for wedding preparations, retreats, seminars, meetings, parties, reunions, overnights and more. Our four bedroom, three full bath guest house has a large dining, living and family room and is available throughout the year. The cottage is rented out as an entire unit and sleeps four.

Agriculture -  A large vegetable garden and numerous flower gardens keep us supplied with delectable treasures and a ravishing landscape. Happy hens, forest hogs and poultry, wooded trails and a pond for fishing round out this bucolic setting.  In the fall, the fields become fodder as the hay is harvested by a local farmer.

I had a great time. The house was very comfortable and the host was absolutely welcoming. She offered her time and care to ensure that we enjoyed our brief stay in Orchard Park. The farm is gorgeous and the eggs are perfect. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Catherine's attention to detail is impeccable and there is a story for each thing in her home. We especially loved the beautiful upstairs bathroom. She made us feel welcome in her home and was always ready with recommendations for things to do. We would definitely stay with Catherine again!

The million dollar view overlooking the valley and beyond to Niagara Falls is spectacular. But the best part of the house is Catherine's kindness and positive karma of caring for others and her love for the children she teaches during the day.
