We honor the memory of Catherine Cherry-Myers, founder and owner of Chestnut Hill Guest House. Catherine's kind, welcoming, loving spirit will be missed by guests from all over the world. The guest house allowed Catherine to touch the lives of travelers from around the world, and all the amazing guests were the spark in her life on the farm. Over the years, countless reviews mostly about Catherine have been a testament to her welcoming and kindred spirit. We'd like to share our favorite with you: 

"Catherine's home is a dwelling: both place and process. Every detail in her home and property expresses this, from the history of the residence from its 100+ years before her arrival, to her family's dedicated cultivation of the space through their own history. Every room, skylight and water feature has it's own story and purpose and Catherine shares her family's designing process with pleasure. A family of artists and artisans, staying with Catherine is a rare treat to get a taste of what it means to dwell in their creativity of home, hospitality and artistry.

From the countless exquisite pieces of family-made art that decorate each room to the studios next door where this art is made, from the expansive natural grounds to the breathtaking views of Buffalo and its surroundings that they have helped design the home to frame, from the trees and bees they grow and the syrup and honey they homemake, to the detailed breakfasts they feature in, Catherine's home is a full experience in the dedicated creativity of dwelling. We are all lucky that she has opened her rare space and it's lightening ways for us to take in temporarily. The delight of her home is only matched by the delight of her person, and the joy she brings in sharing it with new friends".

Her daughter, Bekah, may not be as good of a cook, but will certainly try and live up to her mother's legacy as the new host of Chestnut Hill. The Cottage will reopen beginning of May and the Guest house from the 25th of May. 

We've spent the last year carefully manicuring a plot of our forest in order to bring to you wild hog raised right in our back woods. The forest plot has been managed to allow nut producing trees like hickory and oak to flousish in abundance. Lots of forest nuts keep our piggies happy and leaves you, our guests, with fresh, all-natural bacon to complement the eggs provided by our humainely raised chickens.  We can't wait to make you breakfast with our forest-raised pork, but we still need some time for the little guys to fatten up! In the meantime, guests can visit the pen during a relaxing stroll through the woods or visit our website chestnuthillfarm.org
